Well being in Beijing

Yoga in Beijing

Yoga

Yoga has only appeared in China over the last couple of years; however, the number of Chinese yoga participants is rising all the time. In Beijing, yoga clubs are very popular, with many of them offering courses in English.

There are also clubs like Mountain Yoga, who offer open air yoga sessions, enabling you to breathe fresh countryside air and further enhancing your Chinese yoga experience.

Tai-chi-chuan

Taichi en Beijing

Tai Chi is a national sport, and is particularly popular amongst seniors. It's not so much a martial art, as a slow form of gymnastics, which is excellent at keeping you fit, whilst not being overly violent or forceful. You can see Tai Chi being performed early most mornings in parks, and other quiet places.

In some parks, you can find people offering classes. There are also clubs and associations which offer regular classes and are probably more suitable for foreigners.
