Simple and elegantThe duo scrimps neither on imagination, nor on details. Their only belief is that originality lies in its crudeness. "Traditional aspects have been transformed, and presently in a fresh, new style. We play a lot with asymmetry", Hua explains . "A classic model will use four or five patterns, but we don't use fewer than twenty", he continues. This creativity is not being ostentatious. "We add lots of details - you have to look very closely to notice them all".
There is no pretention over the dominant colour in the collection; black leads – elegant and simple. It was a deliberate choice, in which to make them more unique. “Everyone uses colours, and follows everyone else. We have no intention of going for large scale distribution”, Tony Hua justifies . In terms of material, they go for upmarket ones – cashmere, wool, silk linings, and satin – all imported of course. As well as their main clothes line business, Aurélien Lecour and Tony Hua are cooperating with the Chinese brand Sorelli, to help them improve the quality of their clothes. Besides the monthly evenings at ‘Le Divan’, both stylists plan to open a shop in Sanlitun in eastern Beijing by the spring. They will then work on their Spring and Summer collections.Useful Information:
