Opened in June 2007 by Yann Gauthier, a French restaurateur behind many Beijing restaurants, "La Cave" is a delicatessen just around the corner from the Lama Temple. Between 10 and 15 types of French, Italian and Spanish wine, goat cheese, croissants, olive oil with herbs, balsamic vinegar with truffles, jarred conserves, meat, a range of dairy products etc, are available. The best part about "La Cave" is that a number of its fresh products are made by foreigners living in China. This is a good way to rediscover the taste of the terroir.
"La Cave": daily 7am-midnight. 58a Yong Hegong Dajie. 雍和宫大街58号. Tel 010-6402-7047.
