This Friday July 4th, USA celebrates their Independence Day. Lush and The Beach are two of the bars where it is possible to join the festivity. Regarding music, the city also offers us numerous performances by local and foreign groups. Do not miss them!


June 28th: Ideas for the weekend

For this last weekend of the month, Beijing has many surprises in store for us. Block 8 celebrates their 1st anniversary among fanfare, sequin and champagne. Football fans can enjoy a great match between the teams of Shanghai and Beijing. And those who love dancing in the most unbelievable places, do not miss the Beach Party at Shanhaiguan, a section of the Great Wall.


June 21st: Ideas for the weekend

This Saturday, do not miss Larry Tee, the precursor of electro-clash music. Chinese pop singer Zhang Xuan is also another option to have a nice time this weekend. And last but not least, Beijing French community is celebrating the annual Music Festival.


June 7th: Ideas of the Weekend

This 3-day long weekend beijing offers us many exclusive activities, such as the folk music festival at 2kolegas, great opportunity to discover the local acoustic music. Those who like dancing, do not miss Robert Hood at Tango. If you'd like to have a break from the cosmopolitan life, head to Qinghuangdao, where you can participate in the competitions of the Dragon boats festival ( Duanwu Jie ).


May 31st: Ideas for the weekend

May ends with a very rich weekend, musically speaking. The greatest and worldwide known techno musicians land on the capital, with Loco Dice at Tango, and a recreation of Ibiza nights at Block 8. Local musicians are also present in the musical panorama, with Beijing Techno Union at Club Camp, and the presentations of Ziyo, Carsick Cars and other excellent Beijing bands.


May 24th: Ideas for the weekend

This weekend Beijing musical scene might be calmer than usual, but its quality remains intact; Buyi's concert celebrating the launching of their latest album is just an example. Techno music fans do not miss Yen's fourth anniversary party!

 




May 17th: Ideas for the weekend

This weekend Beijing offers activities for everyone. Those who enjoy nightlife, do not miss Ziyo and Muma concerts, at Mao Livehouse. Those who prefer morning activities, can go and support the marathon runners along their way till Huangyaguan, one of the steepest and most difficult Great Wall sections. Exhibitions, films, and food festivals are also on schedule.

Once again, Beijing provides a rich musical scene. Those who like Beijing rock shouldn't miss Muma's concert. Not to be missed either the Beijing International Dance festival or the mesmerizing French movie "Jules and Jim" at the French Cultural Center. And above all, don't forget to celebrate Mother's Day this Sunday!


May 3rd: Ideas for the weekend

This long holiday-weekend is the perfect occasion to really enjoy the numerous activities Beijing has to offer. Even though the so awaited annual music festival MIDI has been cancelled, many concerts by talented local and foreign artists will still be held in the Chinese capital. Do not miss them!


April 26th: Ideas for the weekend

On this last weekend of the month, Beijing displays numerous exhibitions and very well-known artists. Do not miss the conference held this Friday by Huang Yongping, at Ullens new Contemporary Art Center, Dashanzi.

This first weekend of April, France is the guest of honor not only in Beijing, but also in 18 other Chinese cities, where the festival « Croisements » will be held. The festival has a very rich and various cultural program. Do not miss the opera The King of Ys, or DJ Tiesto at GT Banana.

Regarding food, we can warm up with a selection of Sri-Lankan curries, and spicy dishes from Hunan province. On the stage, make sure you don't miss the ballet In the Mood for Love, a cooperation performance by troupes from France and Shanghai.
